First Birthday Milestone Photos in New Braunfels, Texas
These first birthday photos of my niece were taken at my mom’s house along the Guadalupe River in New Braunfels, TX. While the location itself is beautiful, what mattered most during this session was the connection woven through it.
One of the most meaningful moments was photographing this sweet one-year-old sitting in the same wooden rocking chair that I can remember her mom, my sister, once sitting in as a little girl.
We kept the session simple and child-led. She crawled across a vintage mirror, took in her reflection, and later changed into her personalized sweater (the same one she wore in her newborn photos!). Her older brother joined in for a few sibling photos. He was sweet and gentle, clearly embracing his big brother role.
First birthday photos don’t need elaborate setups to be meaningful. Sometimes the most powerful images come from familiar places, heirloom pieces, and giving kids the space to just be themselves.
If you’re hoping to document a milestone in a way that feels personal, sentimental, and true to your family, I’d love to help you plan something similar.
