Austin Downtown Family Photos with the Foulis Family | Fall Mini Session at Butterfly Bridge
Fall downtown mini sessions are a great option for families who want an urban feel and warm, glowing light for their photos.
This session at Butterfly Bridge in downtown Austin is a perfect example. The bridge’s strong architectural lines paired with pockets of greenery created a simple, modern backdrop that still felt warm and inviting, especially bathed in the soft fall sunlight.
One of my favorite moments was watching the siblings sit together laughing on the bridge, completely unprompted.
This family’s styling choices really helped everything come together, with each family member wearing colors drawn from mom’s patterned dress for a cohesive look that still felt effortless. Their color palette stayed soft and grounded, using blues, greens, and muted pinks among pops of red that photographed beautifully against the bridge’s architecture and surrounding greenery. Finally, each outfit had texture, from mom’s flowing dress to the daughter’s knit sweater to the son’s corduroy pants, which added depth without adding visual noise.
